1986 Honda Fourtrax 250R
Pics and 411 on C@G and his quad.
Well, my quad started off all stock except for a K&N air filter and Dico Trail Claw II rear tires. I then hooked it up with a headlight and got it some red Renthal handlebars and grips, then switched the rear tires/rims with Dico Turf Tamers on Douglas aluminum rims. Late December of '99 the engine's top end was rebuilt, which included Boyesen Power Reeds, new head gasket, base gasket, and reed gasket, a new wristpin, and a 66.25mm Wiseco Piston(standard is 66mm). In this process, the cylinder chamber was bored, transfers reshaped, then the carburetor was adjusted. Early summer of 2000, the carb was rejetted, giving it a new main jet. Shortly after, chrome Graydon Proline nerf bars were put on, along with a red/black/blue racing Ceet seat cover, giving this R more of a racing look.
What's to come? I plan on getting 6-ply Maxxis Razr tires for front and back, which should be interesting, as this will give me larger tires all around. Along with the tires, .190" Douglas wheels are to come all around, giving the quad stronger, lighter, and even better looking rims. An AC Racing front bumper and rear grab bar will be added. Those are the things to come any time now. Eventually, this R will have a new pipe and silencer, and possibly '88 plastic all around, including the headlamp, which will instead lie in the plastic, rather than off the bars like they do now.
